Make a call before the build does.
Token Goblin is a native macOS menu-bar developer game for AI coding waits, builds, tests, and exports. Track manually for any task, or automate terminal commands with the CLI.

Private by default. Runs, XP, and history stay on your Mac.
Three steps from waiting to wildly overinvested.
The build still takes as long as it takes. At least now there is a verdict.
- 1
Start a run
Name the task, choose Codex, Xcode, Terminal, or another runner, and set the estimate.
- 2
Make the call
Predict a quick pass, overtime, a permission request, broken tests, or a suspiciously large diff.
- 3
Finish the run
Reveal the result, earn 25 XP plus a 75 XP correct-call bonus, and keep the receipt.
THE FULL APP, NOT JUST THE MENU BAR
A three-second demo, then your rules.
First launch walks through start, predict, and finish, then offers a three-second demo run. In Settings you can replay onboarding, clear history, reset all game progress, restore a lifetime purchase, and tune the parts that should stay quiet.
Turn downtime into a game.
Call what happens next before your AI agent or build finishes. The prediction is tiny. The confidence is regrettably real.
- Six outcomes with deterministic matching
- Timers for builds, tests, exports, and agent runs
- 25 XP for every finish, plus 75 XP for a correct call
- Manual tracking for any task, plus CLI automation for terminal commands

Receipts worth sharing.
Every prediction becomes a crisp record of the timing, outcome, XP earned, files touched, and tests broken. Copy it, save a Retina PNG, or quietly keep it to yourself.
A tiny history of bold calls.
Review recent runs and unlock milestones without creating an account or syncing anything to a server.

Six ways to be suspiciously correct.
Predict the kind of chaos, not a fabricated exact result. Every outcome is matched from timing and the run details you provide.

What is Token Goblin?
Token Goblin is a native macOS menu bar game for the short waits created by AI coding agents, builds, tests, and exports. Start a run, make a prediction, finish the real outcome, earn XP, and keep the receipt.
Can I track any task manually?
Yes. Token Goblin supports manual tracking for any task, plus CLI automation for terminal commands. Choose a runner label such as Codex, Claude, Xcode, Terminal, or Custom.
Does Token Goblin read my code, prompts, or terminal output?
No. Token Goblin does not read prompts, source code, repository contents, terminal output, or file paths. The CLI sends only the task details and result metrics you explicitly provide.
How does Goblin XP work?
Every finished run earns 25 XP. A correct prediction adds a fixed 75 XP bonus. XP is an accumulated score only and cannot be bought, spent, transferred, redeemed, or exchanged.
How does access work after the trial?
Every feature is available during the seven-day trial. Afterward, a one-time lifetime purchase unlocks the app. Apple shows the current localized price in your Mac App Store storefront.
Can I reset my history and XP?
Yes. You can clear local run history or reset game progress from Settings. Incorrect predictions never deduct XP.
What Mac does Token Goblin require?
Token Goblin is a native Mac app for macOS 14 or later. It is a free download from the Mac App Store, with seven days of full access before the optional one-time lifetime unlock.
Can I restore a previous lifetime purchase?
Yes. Open Settings, choose License, and select Restore Purchase. StoreKit checks Apple for a previous lifetime entitlement; the website does not process payment details.
Your code stays yours.
Token Goblin tracks the game, not your work. It does not read prompts, source code, repositories, terminal output, or file paths.
- Runs, Goblin XP, preferences, and history stay locally on your Mac.
- No accounts, advertising, analytics, crash SDKs, or tracking.
- Shared receipts hide task names unless you explicitly enable them.
