Three steps from waiting to wildly overinvested.

The build still takes as long as it takes. At least now there is a verdict.

  1. 1

    Start a run

Name the task, choose Codex, Xcode, Terminal, or another runner, and set the estimate.

  2. 2

    Make the call

Predict a quick pass, overtime, a permission request, broken tests, or a suspiciously large diff.

  3. 3

    Settle the outcome

Finish the run, reveal the result, update your fake-point balance, and keep the receipt.

Turn downtime into a game.

Call what happens next before your AI agent or build finishes. The wager is fake. The confidence is regrettably real.

  • Six outcomes with clear fake-token odds
  • Timers for builds, tests, exports, and agent runs
  • A local balance with a bailout if you reach zero
  • Manual play plus terminal and URL-scheme automation

What is Token Goblin?

Token Goblin is a native macOS menu bar game for the short waits created by AI coding agents, builds, tests, and exports. Start a run, make a fake-token prediction, settle the real outcome, and keep the receipt.

Does it work with Codex, Xcode, and terminal commands?

Yes. Start a manual run for any tool, choose a runner label such as Codex or Xcode, or automate terminal workflows with the bundled goblin CLI and tokengoblin URL scheme.

Does Token Goblin read my code, prompts, or terminal output?

No. Token Goblin does not read prompts, source code, repository contents, terminal output, or file paths. The CLI sends only the task details and result metrics you explicitly provide.

Is real money involved?

No. Goblin points are fictional game points. They cannot be bought, redeemed, transferred, cashed out, or exchanged for prizes.

How does access work after the trial?

Every feature is available during the seven-day trial. Afterward, a one-time lifetime purchase unlocks the app. Apple shows the current localized price in your Mac App Store storefront.

Can I reset my history or recover from zero points?

Yes. You can clear local run history from Settings. If your balance reaches zero, Token Goblin offers a 500-point bailout so the game never dead-ends.

Your code stays yours.

Token Goblin tracks the game, not your work. It does not read prompts, source code, repositories, terminal output, or file paths.

  • Runs, points, preferences, and history stay locally on your Mac.
  • No accounts, advertising, analytics, crash SDKs, or tracking.
  • Shared receipts hide task names unless you explicitly enable them.
